First Hour
Sundays at 9:30
First Hour at Trinity Church is a time for group learning, prayer, and practice.
First hour is intergenerational (high school - ________), providing a beautiful opportunity for disciples of different ages to learn from and minister to one another. All are welcome to contribute their wisdom and gifts.
Learning to live in the kingdom of God is our primary goal in First Hour. Units of study help us to step into the invitations of our Lord and Friend, Jesus, so that we are actively opening our souls to his transforming grace. We place our minds, hearts, and spirits before God to be conformed to the image of the Son, learning to love as he loves and think as he thinks.
Some recent themes include:
The Lord’s Prayer
The Bible: How It Came to Be
From the Inside Out (Understanding and Experiencing Christian Spiritual Formation)
Entering Lent through Three Christian Disciplines
Hearing God: Doors into Prayer
Exploring topics like these together helps us to understand and experience the practical, day-to-day realities of following Christ in our homes, workplaces, and communities.
We invite everyone who attends Trinity to make First Hour an important part of your Sabbath rhythm — a way to set apart Sundays as holy unto the Lord as we set apart our lives to be with our Savior and receive his grace into the depths of our being.
